The city centre beach in Arcachon

Bordering the Promenade of the Sea Front, the central beach of Arcachon is undoubtedly the most enchanting pearl of Atlantic Ocean which is deployed on 800 meters of sandy surface bordered by a beautiful emerald sea. It is world famous for its marvelous jetties including the illustrious Thiers and the great Eyrac which are also the pride of Europe.

The beach of the town center of Arcachon is the starting point of several naval walks towards the Bird Island or the Tchanque Shacks. A landmark since the 19th century, it is perfectly situated close to the shopping centers as well as the best local specialties.

So as to bring happiness to the visitors, the central beach of Arcachon is equipped with showers and watering place to cool off or to clean the sand residues accumulated during the bathing. The seaside resort is, among other things, considered as being a beach for disabled people so that those people who have reduced mobility could also carelessly take advantage of the beach  right in the middle of an secured and preserved environment.

The central beach of Arcachon is strongly watched over from mid-June to mid-September. Various clubs are also open during these periods offering several water sports and equipment rentals. Close to the beach there is the Palais des Congres, Arcachon Casino, Deganne Castle and the Aquarium Museum to entertain toddlers.
