Le Teich
Teich, the natural city of Arcachon, is a small town in the southwest of France located in the department of Gironde. It is majestically located on the Leyre delta in Pays de Buch in the littoral side of the famous Arcachon blue basin. The green spaces are those which dominate strongly the surrounding areas of the city.
Traveling through the landscapes of Teich means to discover an environment where nature is the queen. The village shelters an ornithological reserve that receives migratory birds looking for a beautiful place to mate and to take advantage of the sun. During the summer holidays, many tourists come to visit the site in order to observe the various breeds of birds present there. Also, since the lands of La Teich are served by the large river of La Leyre, it is possible for the summer visitors to practice canoe sessions on a calm and clear water.
Le Teich is among the list of towns in the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park. The ornithological park has been shaped since 1972 with the aim of building a place with favorable conditions so as to gather wildlife and visitors to the same places. The latter also acts as a refuge for birds wishing to migrate to places more suitable for procreation and rest. The storks are in part the most noticeable specimens and the are numerous to land on the spot.
As for the cultural tourism, the Castle of Ruat is an excellent place to crash which recounts with vigour the history of Teich. Having been constructed in the 15th century, the building was listed as a historical monument in 1970. Among other things, the city attaches great importance to football in which the junior teams under 15 years have been able to dominate by arriving until the championship of Gironde .
