The famous films shot in Arcachon

Arcachon has this particularity of being a dream destination where nature has given of its best . Thanks  to the splendor of its landscapes, which breathe a great deal of magical areas, the city has hosted several film shoots, which are usually  full - length feature films. Let us discover together two beautiful achievements that have left their mark in the world of cinema and which have especially strongly highlighted the lands of Arcachon.

A moment of happiness

This beautiful fulfillment of Antoine Santana, released in 2002, tells the story of a young man in search of experiences especially on the sentimental side. Philippe, being the leading role of the film, has just landed in Arcachon to work in a restaurant. Then, he met the young Betty, a lovely 20-year-old lady with very deceptive characters ... These 2 people have one thing in common: although they are young and beautiful, they are lacking love  ...

This was one of the first works with an intrigue which, in general, took place mainly on the Bassin d'Arcachon. The filmmakers wanted to highlight the huts of the port of Larros de Gujan-Mestras and those found at La Teste-de-Buch in order to show the timeless charm that the basin had always had.

The Little Handkerchiefs

A film launched in 2010, this masterpiece by Guillaume Canet was largely shot in the district of Ferret. The story narrates the life of a group of friends who will schedule a family outing to the bassin d'Arcachon for the summer holidays. A tragedy occurs to one of their friends, death has brought a loved one, which caused a strong disagreement between the fellows. Although they must live having regrets, they will try to keep this heavy secret and bear the burden together ... A step that will test their friendship!
